Mahtomedi Basketball Association

The Mahtomedi Basketball Association (MBA) is pleased provide a BASE Sports Enhancement Clinic consisting of 6 sessions to help athletes to develop/enhance Balance, Agility, Speed and Explosiveness (BASE). The MBA is excited to have Shannon Maixner and the staff of Fitness Focus as training professionals for the clinic.

Dates: July 19, 21, 23, 26 28 30 (Mon-Wed-Fri)
Location: Mahtomedi Middle School (Gym 1)
Time: 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Participants: Boys and Girls entering grades 5 - 8
Cost: $25 (check payable to Mahtomedi Basketball Association which can be paid the first time you participate)

The Mahtomedi Basketball Association is pleased to welcome Jenifer Britz (Head Women's Basketball Coach), Chris Buerman (Assistant Coach) and the staff of the Augsburg College women's basketball team to a special two-day basketball clinic for girls in grades 5th-12th.  Lunch and refreshments will be provided daily during the noon break.  If you are not able to attend all sessions, attend when you can.  See the below flyer for additional information and registration.  This is a great opportunity to get excellent hands on training. . .we'll see you there!

In the coming spring/summer, the basketball association plans to partner with various organizations to provide a series of clinics and training opportunities. We look forward to working with Fitness Focus, Acceleration North, our varsity coaches, and several other organizations in order to provide a variety of opportunities for our athletes.

Community Education is offering a basketball camp for girls completing grades K-9. The camp will be directed by John Hardgrove and his coaching staff and is designed to stress the fundamentals of basketball through a unique series of demonstrations, drills, group and individual instruction, and competition. A variety of skills will be demonstrated and players will be given guided practice in performing these skills in a personalized setting. Former and current MHS players will be assisting at the camp. If you are interested in achieving better basketball skills and want to have a great time doing it, this is the camp for you! Campers will receive a Zephyr camp souvenir. 

Come meet the head coach in Mahtomedi and continue to work on the fundamental skills related to becoming a great basketball player. Coach Newman was an all-state guard in high school and a successful college player and has a passion for connecting with kids and teaching them the great game of basketball. This camp will be a mix of fundamental teaching sessions on shooting, ball handling, passing, and defensive techniques. There will also be opportunities to play games, as well as contests that Coach Newman has gathered over his 20 years of working camps. The camps will also include varsity players helping and interacting with the campers. This is a huge highlight for the campers. Campers will receive a camp shirt.

As a courtesy to players and parents, the MBA has chosen to provide information on the non-MBA basketball area programs listed below as a service to parents and players in finding potential “off season” playing opportunities.  The MBA does not endorse non-MBA sponsored programs but instead provides only access to information.  Moreover, as the MBA does not endorse or approve any Out of Season - non-MBA basketball programs, individuals and teams participating in any such programs must:

• Pay all of their own costs and expenses (nothing is paid for by MBA)
• Supply their own equipment and uniforms, as they are not allowed to use MBA equipment or uniforms
• Provide their own insurance, as necessary as they will NOT be covered under current MBA insurance coverage
